My paintings start with a pencil sketch followed by layers of watercolor until the saturation and tones are where I want them… and then comes the India Ink. Sometimes I can spend as many hours at this stage as I did in the painting itself.

Paul

Once upon a time, in the picturesque countryside of Spain, there lived a remarkable bull named Paul. Paul wasn't just any bull; he was renowned throughout the rolling hills for his strength, grace, and gentle demeanor. With his sleek brown coat and powerful build, he roamed the lush pastures of his homeland, basking in the warm sun and relishing the gentle breeze that tousled his mane.

Paul's habitat was the expansive expanse of the Spanish countryside, where he roamed freely with his herd. The landscape was adorned with oak trees, olive groves, and fields of vibrant wildflowers, providing abundant food and shelter for Paul and his companions. He spent his days grazing on tender grasses, herbs, and shrubs, nourishing his body and fueling his boundless energy.

Bulls like Paul are herbivores, which means they primarily eat plants. Their diet consists mainly of grass, but they also enjoy nibbling on leaves, twigs, and occasionally fruits or vegetables. Paul's favorite delicacy was fresh clover, which he would happily munch on for hours, savoring its sweet taste and crunchy texture.

Living in a herd provided Paul with companionship and safety. Bulls are social creatures, forming strong bonds with their fellow herd members. They communicate through various sounds and gestures, using their powerful bodies to establish dominance and maintain order within the group.

However, life wasn't always tranquil for Paul and his herd. They had to remain vigilant against predators such as wolves and bears, which sometimes encroached upon their territory in search of food. Bulls, with their sharp horns and robust bodies, are formidable opponents, capable of defending themselves and their loved ones against any threat.

One day, as Paul and his herd leisurely grazed in the meadow, they were startled by the thundering sound of hooves pounding against the earth. A group of humans on horseback had appeared on the horizon, their colorful capes billowing in the wind. Paul snorted in alarm, but he stood his ground, prepared to protect his herd from any danger.

The humans, however, harbored no ill intentions toward Paul or his companions. They were matadors, skilled performers who entertained crowds with their daring feats of bravery and agility. Paul watched in awe as the matadors danced and twirled around the arena, their capes swirling like flames in the afternoon sun.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, Paul and his herd made their way back to their peaceful grazing grounds, their bellies full and their hearts content. Despite the perils that lurked in the wilderness, they knew that as long as they had each other, they could conquer any challenge that came their way.

And so, under the starlit sky and the soft caress of the evening breeze, Paul settled down for the night, dreaming of new adventures that awaited him in the vast and magnificent world that was his home.
